WEEKLY POLL (MAY 28-JUNE 3): Is It Cane or His Twin Caleb Working With Genevieve?

What do you think is really going on? IS IT CANE OR HIS TWIN CALEB WORKING WITH GENEVIEVE?
- Do you think it's Cane and he's been alive this whole time!
- Do you think it's Caleb and he's working with his mother so that they can avenge Cane's death?
- Do you think it might be both of them working together with their mother against their father, Colin?
- Maybe you can't decide but you are just loving the story and can't wait to find out what's really going on?!
- Or are you not sure what's going on and you don't care either because the story is boring you?

CASTING SHOCKER! Two-Time Emmy Winner Maura West is OUT as Diane!
Though she's less than a year into her run on The Young and the Restless, soapcentral.com and soapoperadigest.com are reporting that two-time Emmy winner Maura West (Diane Jenkins) has been let go.
According to Soaps In Depth, West is out because the actress "just couldn't get the same lightning to strike twice with her Y&R role." The magazine states that insiders found that West was "miscast" in her role on the CBS soap.
In receiving her Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2010, West let it be known that she wanted to continue in daytime -- and that she wanted to do so on CBS.
"If I [were] to stay in soaps, my loyalty [is] to CBS, where I’ve been on for 15 years. That's where my loyalty lies," West responded when asked if she'd consider joining another soap.
With her Y&R hiring, West became the third actress to tackle the role of Diane. The role of Y&R's Diane was most recently played by Susan Walters. Walters appeared in the role from 2001 to 2004, but popped up in Genoa City last February for a two-day run. Alex Donnelley originated the role and had two runs with the show, one from 1982 to 1986, and another from 1996 to February 2001.
During her 15 years with As the World Turns, West was twice awarded the Outstanding Lead Actress trophy at the Daytime Emmys. She also received four additional nominations -- three as Lead Actress and one in the Supporting Actress field.
There is no word yet on when West might last air. The Young and the Restless does not comment on contracts. However, sources say that the character will be exiting in a rather dramatic way. Stay tuned for more details!

WEEKLY POLL (MAY 21-27): Are You Disappointed Colin Is Still Up To His Evil Ways?
This past week on Y&R, Colin's true intentions were revealed -- He's been behind the so-called "visions" that Lily has been having of Cane. We still don't have all the details about who this flesh-and-blood person who has been appearing to Lily is -- is it Cane? is it a look-a-like? or maybe a twin? -- but we do know he is real and that Colin has been using him to make Lily think she is going insane so that he can eventually take his grandchildren away from her to raise them as he wishes in Australia. With this revelation of Colin's true intentions, any hope that the kinder, gentler man we've been seeing over the past few months was the writers way of redeeming Colin in the wake of Cane's death is gone and we know now that the softer side of him we've been seeing has all been a part of his continued manipulations to get what he wants. How do you feel about this revelation? ARE YOU DISAPPOINTED COLIN IS STILL UP TO HIS EVIL WAYS?
- Are you disappointed because you were hoping the writers would redeem Colin after Cane's death?
- Are you not disappointed at all because you are enjoying the Cane mystery and loved the revelation that Colin is behind it all?
- Or are you torn on how to feel because you did want to see Colin redeemed so that there was potential for him to stick around Y&R for a long time to come ... but you also love to hate him as a villain and want to see more?!

WEEKLY POLL (MAY 14-20): Are You Glad Ashley & Tucker Won't Wed As Planned?
At the end of Friday's episode, a drunk Abby crashed her car, which Ashley was a passenger in, right into Tucker -- and then straight into a tree! Sure, Abby wanted to stop her mother's nuptials but she never meant to create such a tragic accident! Those who do not like Ashley & Tucker as a couple will likely be somewhat happy to see the nuptials put on hold in the fallout of this crash. Those looking forward to the couple's wedding and their future together, though, are not going to be too pleased with Abby's latest -- and most lethal! -- out-of-control stunt! What do you think? ARE YOU GLAD ASHLEY & TUCKER WON'T WED AS PLANNED?
- Are you one who feels that what happened was, indeed, tragic but you are glad that the wedding is being put on hold?
- Are you upset because you were looking forward to the wedding? After all, Tucker has made mistakes in the past (Diane!) but he is definitely loyal and committed to Ashley now and they deserved a chance at happiness!
- Do you view the crash as a blessing in disguise because you side with Abby and think Tucker is all wrong for Ashley?
- Or are you just enjoying the drama, think that the duo will wed eventually anyway once everyone is recovered, and you are looking forward to the fallout from the crash?!

WEEKLY POLL (MAY 7-13): How Do You Feel About Jana's Exit Storyline?
The drama unfolding between Chloe, Kevin, and Jana this past week has all been culminating towards Jana's exit from the show. Many fans are upset to see such a talented actress -- Emily O'Brien -- leaving the show, but even more have voiced displeasure over the way she is being written out. Still, these last episodes of hers have provided everyone involved in the storyline with some great material and it's been hard not to keep both eyes glued to the TV during this edge-of-your-seat send-off for the character. What are your thoughts? HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT JANA'S EXIT STORYLINE?
- Do you think it's great and have found it to be riveting and really entertaining?
- Do you think the storyline has been good, but you still hate to see Emily O'Brien (Jana) leave the show?

MAY SWEEPS PREVIEW!
You better buckle your seatbelts, Y&R fans!
“There’s a tremendous amount going on, with all the stories equally dramatic and intensely emotional. It’s going to be a real roller coaster! It will be a jam-packed month and several stories will have ripple effects,” previews co-head writer Scott Hamner. “We are just running the gamut. There will be surprises and secrets revealed. Questions that have been posed will now be answered.”
NIKKI / VICTOR / DIANE:
We all know that Victor & Nikki can’t keep their hands off each other. This particular time will be interesting for viewers, because Victor & Nikki are fighting that connection. They are evolving and the depth of their friendship and love is going to be explored and refined in a way that I think viewers are going to find very satisfying. Seeing where they go at this point is going to be very interesting.” And what about Diane? Victor begins doubting his marriage and there’s a showdown between Victor & Diane looming on the horizon! Considering Diane won’t get a single penny based on the prenup, though, she’s not exactly eager to head to divorce court. “The question is: Just how far will she go to keep this marriage going?
ASHLEY / TUCKER / ABBY:
Abby has been telling her mother that Tucker is a player, and Ashley will not believe that Tucker is the man that Abby sees. As the wedding approaches, Abby is going to become much more aggressive in trying to thwart that marriage. But will her quest to stop the wedding hurt the ones she loves? She’s going to take some drastic steps that are going to have some tragic consequences that will change the dynamics between characters in different families and really mix up the outcome of Jabot, McCall, and Newman Enterprises. It will lead into a much bigger story over the summer.
NICK / ADAM / SHARON / SAM:
Sharon’s death is going to be declared a suicide; so, it’s going to be interesting for Nick and Adam because they hate each other and will blame each other, but they are going to have to work together in order to achieve a common goal: They both want to clear Sharon’s name; of course, they’re going to have different ideas about how to do that. They both agree that Sharon is not a murderer, and they are both horrified by the idea that her children, and whatever grandchildren she will have, will think of her as having committed suicide. The emotional stakes are very high.
Meanwhile, Sharon is at a loss about what to do with her life at this point and continues to hide her identity in a newfound secret life. If there’s anybody that needs a little break, it’s her. This past couple of years for her has been emotionally and psychologically exhausting. Now, she’s feeling that everyone in Genoa city is better off without her so the temptation to start over is very real for her. Sam is a port in the storm for her. He’s a healing force for her to lean upon and he will be very intuitive, sensitive, and yet strong. We’re going to slowly see him begin to help her heal, which is going to form a strong bond between the two of them.
Sharon will also have to consider coming back to Genoa city and trying to clear her name in order to be reunited with her kids.
BILLY / VICTORIA / LUCY / DANIEL / PHYLLIS / MICHAEL / LAUREN:
Lucy’s custody pits friend against friend, family against family, and employee against boss. There’s going to be polarization, and people are going to fall on either side. Michael is going to be caught in the middle between Phyllis and Lauren, and will have to make a choice between his friend and his wife. Daniel and Phyllis are going to fall on different sides, so mother and son will be at odds. The boss and employee relationship becomes very problematic when Phyllis uses the magazine, against Billy’s very specific instructions, in order to further her own agenda. The emotional intensity in this story is going to be tremendous.
GENEVIEVE / COLIN / LILY / CANE:
Cane’s mother Genevieve, arrives in Genoa City to avenge her son’s death. She’s going to be larger than life, very powerful, elegant, and ultra-chic. She’s a force to be reckoned with. She is not going to be Australian; instead, she is someone who traveled to Australia when she was very young.
In addition to Genevieve’s introduction to this storyline, fans will finally get some much-wanted answers regarding Cane. As we go into May Sweeps, we are not going to know if Cane is real or not. Lily continues to be haunted by him, but is his presence the result of an over-active imagination, something more magical… or something sinister? We’re going to learn this story in pieces. It’s going to lead to a crescendo that’s going to be spectacular. People will form alliances based on mutual need and, at the same point, deception. It’s an intricate story with several huge twists and secrets revealed that are going to be quite shocking.
