WEEKLY POLL (June 25 - July 1): Do You Want Lily & Cane Back Together?

In the aftermath of Cane's death and Daniel Goddard's dismissal from the show, fans clamored for the actor to be re-hired and for the writers to find some way to resurrect Cane ... but now that the actor is back and Cane is very much alive, Cane has been revealed as a liar once again and this time his lies may keep he and Lily from ever reuniting as a happy couple. Where do you stand on the issue? DO YOU WANT LILY & CANE BACK TOGETHER?

WEEKLY POLL (June 19-24): Interested in the Idea of a Jack / Genevieve Pairing?

This week on Y&R, Genevieve was shameless flirting with Jack at GloWorm after learning about him from Jeff & Gloria while she was dining at the restaurant. The sparks definitely flew and many fans seemed to enjoy their scenes together ... but the question still remains: Is Genevieve good or bad? We've certainly seen a "dark" side to her as her plan to get revenge on Colin came to fruition over the last few weeks, but those plans were made of the best intentions and to keep Colin from kidnapping Cane & Lily's twins ... So, might we see a nicer side to Genevieve as she spends more time with Jack? Do you even want to see her spend more time with Jack? What do you think? Are you INTERESTED IN THE IDEA OF A JACK / GENEVIEVE PAIRING?

- Are you definitely interested because you loved their scenes together?
- Do you think the idea has potential but you want to learn more about her first and figure out whether she's good or bad before investing in this romance?
- Are you not interested because you think the last thing Jack needs in his life is another psychotic woman?!
- Or are you just maybe interested right now and wanting to see more of them together before you decide?

CASTING UPDATE: Billy Miller (Billy) is STAYING!

Billy fans can breathe a sigh of relief!
Emmy winner Billy J. Miller (Billy Abbott) will not be exiting The Young and the Restless when his contract expires this summer. The actor and the CBS soap have reached a deal on a new contract.

Soaps In Depth first reported the news of Miller's new deal on Twitter. The magazine has since gone on to reveal that Miller's contract is a one-year deal.

Earlier this year, Miller -- who is extremely popular with Y&R fans -- was rumored to be leaving the number one daytime drama
Miller debuted on The Young and the Restless in September 2008, becoming the fourth actor in six years to play the role of Billy. Prior to joining Y&R, Miller appeared for a year on ABC's All My Children.

In 2010, Miller earned his first Daytime Emmy, winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor trophy. He is nominated in the category again this year ... and now that he's sticking around it looks like he has the opportunity to go for Emmy gold at least one extra year!

WEEKLY POLL (JUNE 4-10): Nikki Gone For Good? What Would You Like to Happen?

This past week on Y&R, Nikki got some much-needed help from Victor on her birthday and was checked-in to rehab for her drinking problem. Off-screen, Nikki's portrayer, Melody Thomas Scott, reported that those episodes were her last until the powers-that-be at the show determine otherwise. Nikki fans immediately were in an uproar over this news and assumed this was another issue regarding contract negotiations, just like Scott went through a couple years ago when she was nearly written off. To clarify her previous statement and clear up any confusion, Scott recently elaborated by stating, "There are no negotiation problems that I know of. Just no scripts for the last month. Believe me, I'd love to be working every day!"
So, perhaps Nikki fans can rest easier as it sounds like this may just be a temporary break for the character while the writers focus on other characters and major stories that have been brewing and are now front-and-center for the summer. What do you think? Is NIKKI GONE FOR GOOD? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAPPEN?

- Would you like for her to stay gone because you've grown tired of the character?
- Do you think this break will be a good thing for the character and you would like to see her come back stronger than ever?
- Would you like for this "break" to end immediately so Nikki -- and her alcohol problem -- can return to Genoa City to stir up more drama?!
- Or do you not really care one way or the other?

VOTE NOW (in the top-right corner of the Blog) and then leave a comment here or on the link to the poll on the Crimson Lights Facebook profile to let us know how you voted and why!
Be sure to check back next Saturday for the results ... and be sure to tune into Y&R this week because there will still be plenty of Newman family drama even without Nikki around!

POLL RESULTS from WEEK of MAY 28 - JUNE 3!

CASTING SURPRISE: No More Nikki on Y&R?

Might viewers have seen the last of Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) on The Young and the Restless? The CBS soap isn't commenting, but Scott has revealed that she's taped her last scenes.

"Actually, I don't know if or when I'll be shooting again," Scott said on Twitter. "This week's air shows were my last, until someone determines otherwise."

This isn't the first time that Scott and show executives have reached a stalemate. In fact, it's the third time in the past ten years. In 2001, sources reported that Scott had been let go from The Young and the Restless. After several weeks of uncertainty, CBS announced that Scott was staying out but she later returned. Then, just two years ago, a contract impasse between Scott and Y&R executives resulted in Nikki Newman being written out of the show temporarily. Now, it looks like history has repeated itself and the actress may be gone for good. Stay tuned.
