WEEKLY POLL (September 24-30): Are You Liking Daisy's Latest Return?

This past week on Y&R, Sharon was surprised to find Daisy in prison with her -- and even more surprised when she attempted to befriend her. Sharon is rightfully wary of Daisy given the vixen's past, but she is also seeing a different, more vulnerable side to Daisy in prison. Perhaps it is possible that Daisy is reformed now that she is no longer under the influence of her psychotic aunt Sarah. And now that Avery has met Daisy, is it only a matter of time before Daisy is free again? It seems that Avery and Daisy's general dislike of Phyllis could lead to trouble for feisty redhead -- and it seems like Yvonne Zima's return as Daisy could lead to a lot of exciting storyline possibilities! What do you think? ARE YOU LIKING DAISY'S LATEST RETURN?

- Yes! Daisy seems reformed without Sarah's influence and Sharon needs a friend
- No! I was hoping we'd never see Daisy again
- I'm not liking Daisy and Sharon as friends, but I like the idea of Avery using her against Phyllis
- I'm not sure yet. I need to see where the story goes next

TEASERS! Sneak Peek at WEEK of SEPT 19-23!

WEEKLY POLL (September 17 - 23): Is Kevin Doing the Right Thing for Delia?

This past week on Y&R, Victor brought Billy back to town so that he could be tested for a bone marrow donor for Delia. But, Victor being Victor, he wasn't about to let Billy just walk back into his daughter's life so he brought him back to town covertly and convinced Kevin to claim that Billy's bone marrow test is his own. So, if Billy does end up being a match, Kevin will take all the credit and Chloe will never know what Billy's done for Delia. Understandably, Kevin is conflicted over Victor's plan, but he has decided it is the right thing to go along with it. What do you think? IS KEVIN DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR DELIA by going along with Victor's plan?

- Yes. Given the circumstances there is no other option but to lie about Billy
- No way! He should have told Chloe right away that Billy was back in town
- It's not right but I don't blame Kevin ... Victor is the only one to blame here
- I'm not sure. I understand his difficult position but I don't agree with Victor's plan

CASTING UPDATE: Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) WILL Return!

Soaps In Depth reports that in an interview with TV Guide, Y&R star Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) announced she has signed a new contract to return to the soap.
Scott says, "They have come around and suddenly appreciate me again."

Scott last appeared at the end of April, when an alcoholic Nikki went off to rehab.
In the months since Scott has been off the canvas, her Twitter followers have been working full-force to get Sony (which owns the soap) to renew her contract.
"I hope all of you know that YOU are the reason I am back," Scott tweeted to her legions of fans after the news broke. "Had you not rallied behind me, and stirred up ALL kinds of trouble, Nikki would [be gone]. I can never thank you enough."

Scott will reportedly return to the Y&R set next month and air around Thanksgiving. Happy Holidays, indeed!

CASTING UPDATE: Eden Riegel's (Heather) Exit Confirmed, Actress Learns of Firing Online!

Eden Riegel (Heather Stevens) has been let go from The Young and the Restless, but the Emmy-winning actress didn't hear the news from the show. Riegel learned of her dismissal after the news was reported on the Internet.

Soaps In Depth reported that Riegel had been let go -- along with a handful of other stars. The move to trim the show's cast comes as the CBS soap has hit record lows in the Nielsen ratings. Fans jumped on the report, and asked Riegel if the report was true.
"It's not for me to say they're wrong but I have not been told of my departure," Riegel said of the Soaps in Depth report that she'd been fired, noting that it would be "embarrassing" if the magazine had found out that she'd been let go before she did.

Apparently there were some phone calls made or emails exchanged, because Riegel took to Twitter again a short time later with a decidedly different message.
"Oops. I take it back. Apparently my run on Y&R is soon coming to an end," Riegel clarified. "It was a fun ride!"

That run lasted just about 18 months. Riegel taped her first Y&R scenes in March 2010. Prior to that, Riegel appeared as a contract player on All My Children from July 2000 through February 2005. In 2005, Riegel won a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Younger Actress. The actress also returned for short-term appearances on AMC from 2005 through a one-day appearance in January 2010.

"I have to say I was a wee bit bummed. But looking at [my son] Jack makes it hard to be down about anything," Riegel added.

News of Riegel's ouster comes on the same day as two other Y&R stars. Tristan Rogers (Colin Atkinson) revealed his character would be exiting the canvas, and insiders say that Darius McCrary (Malcolm Winters) is also leaving.

Y&R has not confirmed any of the exits because they have a policy of not commenting on actors' contracts but, based on her tweets, Riegel's departure is the first actual confirmed exit of the four stars  that are rumored to be cut from the highest-rated sudser's roster (Sean Patrick Flanery's veternarian-turned-Sharon's-lover is the fourth rumored exit).
Riegel is not the only one of the four stars who took to Twitter about the rumors of their exit, though. Tristan Rogers also tweeted what could be considered confirmation of his impending exit -- "seems Colin is leaving GC" -- but he has made no additional posts to elaborate on his statement.

Stay tuned here for more details on the show's cast-trimming in the coming days and weeks.

CASTING NEWS: Rogers and Riegel OUT! Two More Stars to Follow?

The revolving door at Y&R may soon be seeing a lot of stars leaving Genoa City through it!

Soaps In Depth broke the news that Tristan Rogers announced via Twitter that his character, Colin, would be leaving Genoa City. The actor tweeted, "seems Colin is leaving GC."

This news confirms some of what a Y&R insider shared with In Depth -- that Rogers had been let go from the soap.
What else did the Y&R insider share with In Depth? That, along with Rogers's exit as Colin, three other stars have reportedly been let go as well -- Eden Riegel (Heather), Sean Patrick Flanery (Sam), and Darius McCrary (Malcolm)!

A Y&R spokesperson states that they do not comment on casting rumors and, therefore, none of the stars' exits are confirmed; however, shortly after we learned of these possible exits, Riegel broke the news on Twitter that she had indeed been let go and Heather would be leaving Genoa City.
Additionally, Rogers has made another tweet that confirms his exit as well: "Just taped my last scene," he tweeted on September 20. "Want to thank everyone for their support. Onward and upward."

With two of the four exits now confirmed, is it only a matter of time before we learn that McCrary is out as Malcolm and Flanery's Sam will soon check-out of Genoa City?
Stay tuned to the Crimson Lights Fan Page for the latest updates as this story develops!

CASTING NEWS! An 'American Idol' is Headed to Genoa City!

Soaps In Depth reports that there's a new Mob princess headed to Genoa City, and she'll be played by AMERICAN IDOL runner-up Diana DeGarmo! DeGarmo -- who also appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and Hair and in the national tour of 9 To 5: The Musical following her 2004 IDOL run -- has been cast in the contract role of Jersey Girl Angelina, the daughter of Mob boss Angelo.

The actress/singer reports to the Y&R set next week to begin taping and should hit the screen in late October.

2011 FALL PREVIEW!

“There is going to be plenty of heartbreak, mystery, and romance this fall,” teases Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner.

VICTORIA / BILLY / DELIA:
Delia is going to be very ill, but she can be helped if the right match for a bone marrow donation can be found. So this is a very serious situation that draws Billy back to Genoa City, but the circumstances of his return are very complicated. Because of the stakes involved – the question about Delia’s health and the additional complication of a secret that Billy returns with – he and Victoria are going to have a very rocky road ahead of them. However, these two truly belong together. They have been longing for one another and they are now going to face a number of obstacles that threaten to keep them apart.

LILY / CANE / COLIN:
Colin has a dangerous secret that Cane is determined to uncover. This is going to be some new information that could be helpful to Cane. All of his integrity and strength of character are going to be channeled into making his father accountable for his crimes. During this, there are going to be some big surprises coming up that may open a door for Cane & Lily to possibly get back together.

SHARON'S TRIAL:
Avery has her work cut out for her when Adam gives the most damaging testimony at Sharon’s trial. It’s devastating to Sharon because he attacks her for being a bad mother and he does so in a very public forum. However, payback is a bitch and there are definitely going to be some repercussions for Adam in the wake of being so brutal to Sharon. He is not going to skate free completely.

TUCKER / KATHERINE / DEVON:
The revelation of Devon being Tucker’s son – and Katherine’s decision not to tell Tucker – has explosive repercussions for the Chancellor family. It isn’t malicious, it was really a decision that Katherine made about Tucker as a man and that he may be hurtful or in some ways destructive to his son. However, that decision will create the biggest challenge for this mother and son who already can’t see eye to eye.

RONAN / MURDER INVESTIGATION:
In Ronan’s investigation, some of his tactics are going to be very unorthodox and some of them are going to be direct attacks on the Newman family as a way to shake things up, which doesn’t sit well with Victor. Ronan is definitely poking the dragon but Ronan, to his credit, is fearless. There’s a big surprise coming up about Ronan and why he left Genoa City that is going to tie up a lot of loose ends and answer a lot of questions that have been hanging over Ronan, as well as a number of other characters, as the murder investigation makes some headway.

TEASERS! Sneak Peek at WEEK of SEPT 12-16!

WEEKLY POLL (September 10-16): Do You Prefer Chloe With Ronan or Kevin?

This past week on Y&R has been a whirlwind for Chloe! Her daughter, Delia, was diagnosed with a type of leukemia and may not survive. Luckily, she has the support of her best friend and now-ex-boyfriend, Kevin, to help her through this tough time. Could a reunion for the two be in the near future? Not if Ronan has anything to say about it ... Since returning to town, the sparks between Ronan & Chloe have been flying off the chart and even though they spend most of their time arguing (when they're not hitting the sheets, that is!), it is evident they care about each other and it's a thin line between love and hate. So, what do you think? DO YOU PREFER CHLOE WITH RONAN OR KEVIN?

- Kevin! They're best friends with great chemistry
- Ronan! The sparks there are undeniable
- I'm on the fence. I like her with both of them.
- She shouldn't be focused on any man right now
- I don't care
- Billy! Forget Ronan and Kevin!

TEASERS! Sneak Peek at WEEK of SEPT 5-9!

WEEKLY POLL (September 3-9): Is Katherine Wrong for Keeping Devon's Paternity a Secret?

This past week on Y&R, Paul discovered that Tucker's son is Devon! He found the information for Katherine, who has been on the hunt for Tucker's son ever since she learned that her grandson existed. Surprisingly, once she learned the information she decided to keep it to herself! It is not clear yet what her intentions are for keeping the truth about Devon's paternity a secret from Tucker and Devon, or how long she intends to keep it a secret, but some fans see trouble looming for Mrs. C if she doesn't come clean soon!  What do you think? IS KATHERINE WRONG FOR KEEPING DEVON'S PATERNITY A SECRET?

- Do you think she is not wrong for keeping it a secret because it is a delicate situation and you're sure she is just waiting for the right time to reveal it?
- Are you not sure whether she is right or wrong because her intentions have not been made clear yet and you need to see what she does next before you decide?
- Or do you think she is wrong for keeping it a secret and you feel she should have told them both right away?
