WEEKLY POLL (Jul 30 - Aug 5): Who Was Adam's Mysterious Phone Call With?

This past week on Y&R, fans must've been getting whiplash from all the shocking twists and turns unfolding in Genoa City! One twist that particularly stood out was a mysterious phone call that Adam received. He told them that they should never contact him -- only he should contact them first -- and he is not sending them any more money because they always blow through it all. He then told them that the most important thing is for them to stay "under the radar" because the last thing they need is for someone to recognize them. Who could he have been talking to?!
Some speculate that he was talking to Skye and it will be revealed that she escaped death once again and has been alive this whole time... which would mean that it doesn't matter Adam through the evidence to clear Sharon of Skye's "murder" into the river!
Others have speculated that he was talking to Patty and he will use her as a weapon against the Newmans again soon.
Many also speculate that it will be some other returning villain joining forces with Adam against the Newmans.
What do you think? WHO WAS ADAM'S MYSTERIOUS PHONE CALL WITH?

- Do you think it was Skye?
- Do you think it was Patty?!
- Do you think it may be a different returning character that is an enemy of the Newmans?
- Do you think it is none of the above and it is someone else entirely?
- Or do you just not know or have any idea?!

With news of Maura West's (Diane) exit from the show, many are speculating that the writers may kill off the character for good! What do you think? WILL DIANE ACTUALLY DIE INSTEAD OF JUST FAKING IT?

WEEKLY POLL (July 16-22): Do You Agree That Delia Should Be In Chloe's Sole Custody?

This past week on Y&R, the custody battle between Chloe and Billy over Delia came and went -- with some shocking twists throughout, of course! It looked like hope was lost for Billy until Victoria showed up in court and testified on his behalf, after which it seemed liked the judge might rule to give the sparring parents joint custody. The real shock came the day of the judge's ruling when Billy was late to the trial because he'd been arrested for soliciting a prostitute the night before -- and he was framed by Victor! Victor's dirty deed worked and when the judge learned of Billy's arrest the night before, he gave sole custody of Delia to Chloe. Even though Victor played a major hand in Billy losing his daughter, Billy has also been spiraling out of control over the last few weeks and has certainly caused much of the damage that led to the custody battle in the first place -- so, was it ultimately right that Chloe got sole custody anyway? What do you think? DO YOU AGREE THAT DELIA SHOULD BE IN CHLOE'S SOLE CUSTODY?

- Do you disagree and think there is no way Chloe should have been given full custody because Billy is a great dad and does not deserve to be separated from Delia?
- Are you torn because you can understand why Chloe got custody, but you also think she overreacted by taking the fight to court in the first place?
- Do you agree with the judge's ruling and if you were Chloe you would have done the same thing and taken Delia away from her father?
- Or were you hoping the judge would have ruled that they have joint custody of Delia but you feel like Victor ruined any chance of that by framing Billy for solicitation?

POLL RESULTS from WEEK of JULY 9 - 15!

Saturday, July 9, 2011

WEEKLY POLL (July 9-15): Did You Enjoy the Special 4th of July / Sharon Episode?

For the 4th of July holiday this year, Y&R opted to air a "special" episode surrounding Sharon's character in lieu of airing a regular episode featuring multiple storylines. In the episode, Sharon poured out her soul to Sam about her past and how she ended up in his barn while fans were treated to many flashbacks highlighting some of the character's biggest moments. Many fans loved the chance to see all the old clips and take a trip down memory lane, but some thought it was boring and would have preferred a regular episode instead of another holiday special.
What did you think? DID YOU ENJOY THE SPECIAL 4TH OF JULY / SHARON EPISODE?

- Did you enjoy and loved seeing all the flashbacks!
- Did you think it was just okay and wished there had been more going on instead of being centered all around Sharon?
- Did you not enjoy it at all and would prefer Y&R did not do these "special" episodes?
- Or did you not have very strong feelings about it one way or the other and could take it or leave it?

POLL RESULTS from WEEK of JULY 2-8!

CASTING NEWS! AMC Icon Joins the Cast of Y&R ... But for What Role?

Emmy-winning All My Children star Debbi Morgan will be joining the cast of The Young and the Restless later this year. A Y&R spokesperson has now confirmed the news of Morgan's addition to the top-rated CBS soap. Soaps In Depth magazine first reported that Morgan was close to signing a deal with Y&R last week, but TVGuide is reporting that Morgan didn't sign on the dotted line until yesterday.

This is not the first time that Morgan has had an interest in joining the Y&R canvas. In a visit to Soap Central Live, Y&R vet Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) revealed that Morgan had once written a letter to Y&R execs asking to join the show.
"I tried to get Debbi on The Young and the Restless as a distant relative, and The Young and the Restless passed -- for what reason, I do not know," Rowell revealed. "It was a silver platter situation. And we were heartbroken. Debbi even wrote a letter, which I delivered to the producer at the time, and unanimously, once again, it was turned down."

Morgan has the unusual distinction of playing the same character -- Angie Hubbard -- on three different soaps. Morgan created the role of Angie on All My Children in 1982. She remained with the soap for eight years. She reprised the role in 1993, but on Loving -- not AMC. When Loving concluded its run in 1995, Morgan joined Loving's spinoff soap, The City, for two years. In January 2008, Morgan returned to All My Children after having been away from Pine Valley for nearly 20 years.

While Morgan will be forever known to daytime viewers as Angie, it's not the only daytime role she's played. After leaving AMC in 1990, Morgan headed Generations. She remained there for about a year. In 1997 and 1998, Morgan tackled the role as tough-as-nails Dr. Ellen Burgess on General Hospital's spinoff, Port Charles. Morgan's PC character made occasional appearances on GH. Morgan also appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful over a six-month period that spanned from October 2006 to June 2007.

Ironically, Morgan's official move from All My Children to The Young and the Restless came on the same day that ABC announced that it had reached a licensing deal to allow production of All My Children to continue after its September 23 finale on ABC. ABC announced in April that it would be replacing AMC and One Life to Live with reality and talk show programs.
It remains unclear if Morgan would have opted to continue on with AMC in its new web-based format -- or if she can still be involved with the series now that it will not be airing on broadcast television.

Morgan won an Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1989. She was nominated as Outstanding Ingénue in 1986, and Outstanding Lead Actress in 2009 and 2011.

Y&R has not yet confirmed what character Morgan will play on the show, but insiders widely expect Morgan to have story opposite Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters). Many are speculating that she may be a recast of Victoria Rowell's popular character, Drucilla Winters. More details are sure to come in the coming weeks leading to Morgan's debut on the number one daytime soap.

When Morgan does hit Genoa City, the actress should find it familiar. Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott), Jeff Branson (Ronan Malloy), Genie Francis (Genevieve Atkinson), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell), Billy J Miller (Billy Abbott), and Eden Riegel (Heather Stevens) are all former AMC stars. In fact, Morgan and Bergman's AMC characters were once engaged!

TEASERS! Sneak Peek at WEEK of JULY 4-8!

WEEKLY POLL (July 2-8): Are You Liking the Sam / Sharon Romance?

This past week on Y&R, Sam & Sharon finally gave into their growing feelings for each other -- first, with a kiss, then with Sam asking Sharon out on a date, and finally with them ending up in bed together after Sharon comforted Sam over the loss of his dog.
Many Y&R fans are split over this growing romance ... Nick & Sharon fans and Adam & Sharon fans are hoping Sharon gets back to Genoa City and far away from Sam ASAP, while many other fans are enjoying this new turn for Sharon and find her romance with Sam a breath of fresh air away from the Newman drama! Still, others find Sam to be boring and some just think it is way too soon for Sharon to be getting involved in a romance with a new man.
So, what do you think? ARE YOU LIKING THE SAM / SHARON ROMANCE?

- Are you liking it and you love them together?
- Are you not liking it because you want Sharon with Adam?
- Are you not liking it because you want Sharon with Nick?
- Are you not a fan of their romance even though you wanted a new man for Sharon?
- Are you not liking it because you don't think Sharon is ready for romance yet?
- Or do you just not really care about this storyline at all?
