WEEKLY POLL (JUNE 4-10): Nikki Gone For Good? What Would You Like to Happen?

This past week on Y&R, Nikki got some much-needed help from Victor on her birthday and was checked-in to rehab for her drinking problem. Off-screen, Nikki's portrayer, Melody Thomas Scott, reported that those episodes were her last until the powers-that-be at the show determine otherwise. Nikki fans immediately were in an uproar over this news and assumed this was another issue regarding contract negotiations, just like Scott went through a couple years ago when she was nearly written off. To clarify her previous statement and clear up any confusion, Scott recently elaborated by stating, "There are no negotiation problems that I know of. Just no scripts for the last month. Believe me, I'd love to be working every day!"
So, perhaps Nikki fans can rest easier as it sounds like this may just be a temporary break for the character while the writers focus on other characters and major stories that have been brewing and are now front-and-center for the summer. What do you think? Is NIKKI GONE FOR GOOD? WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAPPEN?

- Would you like for her to stay gone because you've grown tired of the character?
- Do you think this break will be a good thing for the character and you would like to see her come back stronger than ever?
- Would you like for this "break" to end immediately so Nikki -- and her alcohol problem -- can return to Genoa City to stir up more drama?!
- Or do you not really care one way or the other?

VOTE NOW (in the top-right corner of the Blog) and then leave a comment here or on the link to the poll on the Crimson Lights Facebook profile to let us know how you voted and why!
Be sure to check back next Saturday for the results ... and be sure to tune into Y&R this week because there will still be plenty of Newman family drama even without Nikki around!

  2. I love Scott and her character Nikki. I have been watching this show since I was in the 6th grade. My step mom would tape it while she was at work, and I would sit and watch it with her in the evening. I would hate to see Nikki leave, but will understand if the show explores different ventures. It happens. Melody/Nikki just know that your fans love you and wish you the best no matter what happens now or in the future.
